Students who have already completed an associate’s degree (60 or more semester hours or 90 or more quarter hours) are also excellent candidates for this degree program. The major is open to students at any stage of their college career including recent high school graduates and transfer students. The major is delivered in a flexible online format, requiring no face-to-face meetings. The major cross-trains individuals in visual, written, and oral communication, emphasizing both practical application and theory-based communication strategy. Because of the significant role of science and technology today, a knowledge of the methods and concepts of science is considered an essential part of a Scripps College education. Keck Science Department of Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, and Scripps College allows students to fulfill the college requirements in science and to pursue advanced studies as majors or as supplementary studies to related fields.
